Graphical Tool Project: Kinetic Poetry
For this project I was given several weeks to prototype, in processing, a graphical tool. Instead of being literal, I decided to iterate on the project, and made a kinetic poetry creation tool instead.
The code pulls from a database of words that are commonly used in poetry and calls them randomly. The user can change words by pressing the shift key, rotate words with A/S, increase or decrease a words size with W/D, and take screenshots with P. On click, words are placed and given a random color and animation, including fading in and out, zooming in and out, and shaking. The color and animation of each word leads to interpretations beyond that which may be inferred if read on a standard page.
